All eyes are on Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers as fans hope he can follow in the footsteps of the legend, Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky captained the Oilers while a player their in the 1980's and for the 2016-17 season, McDavid was named the 15th captain in the team's history. Gretzky was 22 when he became captain and wore the C on his jersey for five seasons before being traded to the Los Angeles Kings. McDavid was named captain at the age of 19 which made him the youngest captain in NHL history.
